Pada tanggal 21 Maret 2007, Sekretaris Menteri Negara Riset dan Teknologi, Dr. Hudi Hastowo, telah menerima kunjungan Delegasi Tim Teknis Korea Selatan (Korsel) sekitar 20 orang, yang dipimpin oleh Mr. Jung-Gwan Kim, Director General of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry & Energy.

Tujuan kunjungan ini dalam rangka pembentukan Satgas Gabungan (Joint Task Force) untuk meningkatkan kerjasama ekonomi dan investasi Republik Indonesia - Republik Korea, sebagai tindaklanjut penandatanganan Deklarasi Bersama Kemitraan Strategis oleh pemimpin kedua Negara pada tanggal 4 Desember 2006. Selain Kementerian Negara Ristek, Tim Teknis Korsel juga berkunjung ke berbagai departemen dan instansi pemerintah lainnya. Selanjutnya, Satgas Gabungan Korsel (tingkat Menteri) yang diketuai oleh Minister of Commerce, Industry and Energy akan berkunjung ke Indonesia pada tanggal 29 April - 2 Mei 2007, disertai oleh sekitar 90 CEO dari berbagai perusahaan Korsel untuk bertemu dengan mitra mereka di Indonesia.

Dalam kesempatan ini Sesmenristek mengutarakan bidang kerjasama iptek yang telah disepakati antara Indonesia-Korsel dalam rangka menindaklanjuti pertemuan Menteri Negara Ristek RI dengan Minister of Science and Technology (MOST) Korea Selatan, a.l. : Nuclear for Energy yang mencakup research and development, safety and regulation, Nuclear for Food, Nuclear for Health, Herbal Food and Medicine dan ICT (Information and Communication Technology). Untuk kegiatan kerjasama iptek ini akan didiskusikan lebih lanjut topik-topik yang dapat dikolaborasikan dan lembaga pelaksananya. (ad-pri)

The Ristek delegation has visited South Africa from 26 February to 2 March 2007. This visit is in accordance with the Bilateral MoU between the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and the Government of the Republic of South Africa in the field of Scientific and Technological Cooperation. The aim of the visit was to discuss the possible concrete projects that will be pursued between South Africa and Indonesia collaboration and to discuss the details of the upcoming Ministerial visit.



The Indonesia delegation was led by Dr. Finarya Legoh, the Assistant to Deputy Minister for International S&T Program, together with directors from BPPT : Dr. Rifatul Widjhati, Dr. Koesnandar, Dr. Unggul Priyanto. The South Africa delegation was led by Dr. Chris Scheffer, the General Manager for Overseas Bilateral Cooperation – the Department of Science and Technology.

The agenda of visit includes presentation and overview, as well as visit to several universities, institutions, and industries. The specific fields of biotechnology has been identified as interested future collaboration, such as : Medicinal and nutraceuticals properties of Aloe chinesis (Indonesia) and Aloe ferox (SA), Bioassays for testing herbal medicines, and Enzymes to drug and nutraceuticals development; whereas Synthesis Fuel – a feasibility study and development of a laboratory (Indonesia) and Energy Modelling were identified from the energy area.


It was agreed during the discussion that both MoRT and DST will prepare and develop joint proposals in the fields of R&D in biotechnology and energy, including activities such as : joint research, capacity building, mobility program, and human resources development. Both parties will appoint a responsible Focal Point for each field in order to develop networking / participation from other institutions / universities when necessary.

In order to execute the activities for future collaboration, a Joint Working Committee (JWC) for Scientific and Technological Cooperation would be established. The JWC shall focus on the establishment of organizational, legal and financial conditions for the implementation of the collaboration, as well as to monitor and to evaluate the activities.

Both sides agreed that the 1st JWC would be held in Jakarta, time for the JWC meeting will be decided later. It should also be discussed the mechanism of monitoring and evaluating for bilateral cooperation projects.

Pada tanggal 28 Februari 2007, Mr. Stefan Weidinger (Minster Concellor and Deputy Head of Mission dari Kedutaan Austria), memenuhi undangan Deputi Bidang Program Riptek-KNRT, di dampingi oleh Staf Ahli Menteri Bidang TI dan TIM IGOS untuk melakukan diskusi menindaklanjuti MoU antara Kementerian Negara Riset dan Teknologi Republik Indonesia dengan Menteri Pendidikan, Ilmu Pengetahuan dan Budaya Republik Austria, khususnya program kerjasama tentang “Open Sources Education” melalui skema kerjasama ASIA LINK. Salah satu kesepakatan yang dicapai adalah,masing-masing pihak akan membentuk working group dan membuka contact person yang terkait dengan open sources.

Deputi bidang Program Riptek, Dr. Bambang Setiadi telah membuka dan memimpin acara Diskusi Forum Kerja Sama Riptek Internasional. Forum ini dihadiri oleh wakil-wakil LPND seperti BPPT, BATAN, LAPAN, BSN, LIPI, BAKOSURTANAL, BAPETEN, Lembaga Eijkaman, dan Pusat Peraga IPTEK.


Forum diskusi ini membahas mengenai presentasi Kerjasama, mekanisme dan prosedur, sinkronisasi dan pembentukan Forum Group Discussion untuk mengoptimalkan kerjasama riset, ilmu pengetahuan, dan teknologi dengan negara dan institusi mitra dalam skema kerjasama bilateral, regional maupun multilateral. Diharapkan, dengan pembentukan FGD kerjasama internasional tersebut, output dan outcome dari kerjasama yang selama ini telah terjalin dapat lebih dioptimalkan.

Pertemuan koordinasi ini rencananya akan rutin dilaksanakan setiap bulan dan bergilir pada masing-masing LPND.
